Plague of Pern

Apprentice harper Kindan struggles with the lessons at Harper Hall and with bully Vaxoram. But when he beats Vaxoram in a duel, things begin to improve. Vaxoram becomes Kindan’s servant and, gradually, his trusted friend. Then Kindan impresses a fire-lizard and becomes the proud owner of the magnificant Valla. At the hatching he meets Koriana, daughter of Lord Holder Bemin of Fort Hold, and they fall in love.
