A Woman Scorned . . . and Scared
A female detective’s urge for retribution lands her in a perilous and life-threatening situation in James Patterson’s latest pulse-pounding thriller. A story of love, lust, betrayal and violent secrets, The Quickie is an exciting and deeply unnerving page-turner that takes you on a white-knuckle ride through the dark heart of modern relationships.
When NYPD cop Lauren Stillwell discovers her husband leaving a hotel with another woman, she decides to beat him at his own game. But her revenge goes dangerously awry – leaving her in a personal hell of her own making. In a further twist of fate, Lauren must take on an assignment that threatens everything she stands for. Paralysed by deadly secrets, and with her personal and professional life in the balance, her desire for revenge becomes a lethal inferno that will not be extinguished.
Working with Michael Ledwidge, his co-writer on Step on a Crack, this is Patterson at his peerless, high-octane best.

Fast paced, thrilling and full of twists and turns
I finished "The Quikie" at 3am in the morning, after starting it the night before and not being able to put it down! It was my first James Patterson novel and I have already ordered more of his books. Thriller and crime novels are my favourite and I was very impressed with this book. It was fantastic, fast paced and full of twists and turns. I would recommend this book to anyone. It was quite a simple set-up and easy to read, nothing too taxing, which is just what you need once in a while, but it certainly kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through! Simply brilliant.
